Example of Collaboration

In 1985 a number of citizens and helicopter operators met with FAA officials and the LAX Chamber of Commerce for almost a year to resolve helicopter noise issues in the LAX Airport area. As a result of this committee and the mediated settlement, helicopter routes and altitudes were changed. These changes resulted in significant reduction in noise over neighborhoods in the LAX area.
