Michael L. Neveaux
Aviation Consultant
 
 Michael L.Neveaux’s career in the aviation arena spans more than 30 years.  With 36 years of military and aviation law enforcement experience for a variety of projects, Mr.Neveaux is a valuable member of the CommuniQuest Team. He is recognized for his administrative and planning ability to organize and direct teams involving pilots, operators, FAA staff, planners, and airport staff members and interface with a multitude of stakeholders common in airport programs. Mr.Neveaux has extensive flight experience as well as private operator expertise. Mr. Neveaux has coordinated outreach efforts related to airspace and safety issues including stakeholder forums such as the Van Nuys Airport Helicopter Forum organized and coordinated by CommuniQuest on behalf of Los Angeles World Airports through the Van Nuys Citizens Advisory Council for local neighbors and helicopter operators at Van Nuys Airport.In addition, Mr. Neveaux has participated in the Van Nuys Airport Part 161 study with technical expertise regarding Van Nuys Airport and helicopter operations. 
 
In addition, he participated in helicopter surveys as part of the Van Nuys Airport Part 161, providing on site monitoring of helicopter activity for a six day period. Mr. Neveaux has been involved in outreach projects for CommuniQuest at Long Beach Airport. CommuniQuest developed a general aviation security plan for the Airport and has implemented an outreach program to the various general aviation tenants regarding security requirements. Mr. Neveaux provided stakeholder liaison with the tenants to obtain support for the security plans. 
 
Military Career
 

His military career began in 1970 as a U.S. Army Artillery Officer.  After completion of the Officer Rotary Wing Aviation Course in 1972, he became a UH-1 Instructor Pilot as well as a U-21A Instructor Pilot.  He served as the Aviation Safety Officer and later as the Airfield Operations officer for the 14th AVN BN at Ft. SillOklahoma.  In 1975 after leaving active duty, he joined the U.S. Army Reserves (USAR) at Los Alamitos and completed 22 years of service in a number of flight capacities, including Aviation Training and Standardization officer and the chief of the Aviation Division for the 63d Army Reserve Command.  Between 1989 and 1991 Mr. Neveauxserved as the Battalion Commander 1st 214th Aviation Regiment.

His military career culminated as an Colonel (06) first as Deputy Chief of Staff Personnel, HQ 63D ARCOM and ultimately as, Chief of Staff Logistics for the HQ 63D ARCOM.  In his role as Deputy Chief of Staff Personnel, he managed the personnel records and careers of more than 10,000 soldiers in ArizonaNevada and California. As Chief of Staff Logistics, Col. Neveauxmanaged a $15 million logistics budget as well as inspecting the operations of all facilities inArizonaNevada and California until his retirement in 1997.

 

Civilian Career

 

His civilian career as a Los Angeles Police Department pilot has spanned 33 years with a total flight time of more than 19,000 hours in every department aircraft including the UH-1H, the A-Star helicopters and the Department’s King Air 200.  He developed and implemented a computer software program for the Aviation Training program for the Air Support Division.  He also organized and developed the Department’s Aviation Emergency Response Program.

Mr. Neveaux's career at LAPD's Air Support Division culminated with selection as Chief Pilot, a position he held until his retirement.  

In the commercial aviation arena, he organized and developed the Part 135 (Helicopter) operation for Deverian Airways in Burbank California in 1980.  In addition he served as Chief Helicopter Pilot and FAA Check Airman for Deverian Airways Helicopter operations.  He also flew the King Air 200 on a part time basis between 1980 and 1986.

 

Education

 

Mr. Neveaux is a graduate of University of Florida with a B.S. in Industrial Mathematics. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.  He holds FAA Certificates as an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) – Helicopter and Multi-engine, type Lear jet; commercial pilot single-engine land.  He is also a certified flight Instructor, rotorcraft, helicopter.
