Ms. Jones-Herriott is the Executive Director of The Community Mediation Center of Rhode Island (CMCRI). Founded in 1996, CMCRI is Rhode Island’s only non-profit community mediation center.
CMCRI provides mediation and dispute resolution services to community residents and organizations regardless of their ability to pay. In 2008 CMCRI staff and volunteer mediators intervened in over 400 disputes, both in the community and in the Small Claims Courts, assisting with family and parent-teen conflicts, court-involved juveniles, neighbor-to-neighbor, organizational and workplace disputes, agricultural conflicts, landlord-tenant, human rights cases, and small claims matters. By providing a forum in which parties can meet face to face to discuss their differences, CMCRI offers a voluntary, cooperative and constructive way of resolving conflicts and reaching agreements.
The Center also provides mediation, facilitation and conflict resolution training to adults and children in the community and in the schools, as well as mentoring opportunities for new mediators, and ongoing education and training for experienced mediators.
The underlying goal of the Center's work is to build dispute resolution capacity in and to strengthen individuals, families and communities. Mediation enables individuals to build bridges within diverse populations by providing opportunities to solve disputes peacefully, preserve relationships and address root causes of conflict.

As an attorney, educator, judge, legislator and therapist, Bob saw the need for dispute resolution strategies outside the courtroom. With 25 years experience as an educator and trainer, Bob and wife, Virginia, teamed up to provide mediation and dispute resolution training.
In the years since Virginia’s passing, Bob discovered his passion for teaching and mentoring has increased. In 2006 Carolyn Raines accepted the invitation to join forces to create new and relevant programs to add to the already successful training – thus The New DMA, Inc.
Once you experience our training, all others will pale in comparison. We will welcome you into our family and help you use your newly acquired skills to be the best mediator.

I am a conflict specialist committed to meeting the time constraints of both attorneys and their clients. The method of mediation I use facilitates communication amongst all parties exposing interests that so often block the development of relationships. When people feel like they truly have been heard settlement becomes simple. The key factor of this process is their participation in a non-adversarial environment.

Conflict in human affairs is inevitable, but in needn't be destructive. When managed properly it can be transformed into a constructive force that benefits all the parties involved. All too often, however, individuals or groups in a dispute find themselves engaged in the kind of communication that results in harmful and unnecessary loss of trust, damaged relationships, and negative economic and personal consequences. Or they're simply not talking at all.
Solutions Through Dialogue specializes in providing the mediation and related services that create positive interpersonal outcomes. Whether your situation involves a client, lending institution, landlord-tenant relationship, school situation, town dispute, your workplace or your family, we'll provide the support that leads to productive conversations and helps everyone involved achieve a resolution and decrease the likelihood of future problems.

I serve as a mediator and arbitrator in all fields of legal disputes.
I firmly believe that almost any dispute can be successfully mediated and that mediation should always be the first method used in attempting to resolve problems. There are always at least two sides of every story, and that a dispute compromised in a manner that is mutually agreeable to the parties is always better than a Court or jury verdict which may please noone. I persevere and persist, and have a record or successfully resolving cases that the parties involved and their counsel firmly believed could not be resolved.

I won't waste your time giving lectures or telling war stories, and my introductory comments last no more than five minutes. I am a certified mediator under Business and Professions Code Sections 465 et. seq., and also a seasoned litigator/trial attorney with 19 years of courtroom experience. I know what can - and does - happen in a courtroom, and I use this experience to facilitate well-reasoned resolutions. Mediation is a joint effort; both parties must agree to participate. Ms. Pallin-Hill facilitates communication so that each party is given the opportunity to be heard. Because the setting is non-adversarial, emotions are defused and the parties can focus on the real issues. The parties speak for themselves, can air their differences and create innovative decisions regarding outcome. Ms. Pallin-Hill's approach has enabled her to settle over 1100 cases including personal injury, employment, professional malpractice, real estate, construction and commercial matters.
When parents separate or divorce Ms. Pallin-Hill helps them resolve their financial issues and focus on the needs of their children. She encourages them to develop a cooperative parenting relationship so they can make decisions based on the children’s best interest.
Anger, hostility and competition between parents are minimized so that parties can better adjust to the new family dynamic that separation and divorce creates. Leah's experience as a Superior Court Commissioner/Judge pro tem and as the former Chair of the Arizona Supreme Court Model Parenting Plans, helps make her settlement success rate in family cases very high.
When parties cannot agree post-divorce, Leah can assist by either mediating parenting time disputes or by acting as a Court appointed Parenting Coordinator. To see Leah's professional background go to www.leahpallinhill.com

I'm a Partner with Becherer Kannett & Schweitzer. My practice focuses on Litigation and Mediation.
I take pride in helping my clients reduce their headaches. My career has been based on helping ease my clients' burdens by efficiently and effectively solving their legal problems.
I have handled cases throughout the State of California. I gained courtroom and trial experience, through my work as a civil litigation attorney and District Attorney, prosecuting criminal cases.
I take pride in representing clients in a thorough, effective, and efficient manner. My cases are always analyzed from both sides. They are also analyzed on tactical and technical level. This approach ensures that the best litigation plan is implemented for clients on a case-by-case basis.
I use a similar approach in mediating cases. The mediation process must be analyzed on a number of different levels. To successfully mediate a case, we have to focus on the following factors: Human, Business, and Legal. Without the primary focus, the possibility of settlement is remote.
I am also an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University Law School, teaching Trial Advocacy and coaching the mock trial team. I have participated, as a faculty member, in the National Institute for Trial Advocacy's Western Regional Trial Skills and Deposition Skills Program.
I have conducted mediation training sessions for new mediators to help them better understand and implement the mediation process.
I was the reviewer for the NITA publication: PowerPoint(r) 2003 for Professors.
