Darin has worked extensively on new programs and legislative initiatives aimed at modernizing and improving civil and family justice systems in the Canadian provincial, national and international contexts.
He specializes in the uses of innovation and technology to improve the functioning of justice and dispute resolution processes. Past projects include the creation of an online civil justice tribunal and the development of legal knowledge expert systems and knowledge engineering techniques.
Darin served as a Canadian delegate to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law Working Group III on Online Dispute Resolution and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Justice Education Society.
He has co-instructed several upper year law school courses in Legal Information Technology and Legal Knowledge Engineering.
