Giorgio Sassine joined Severson & Werson’s Construction group in 2019. Mr. Sassine has experience in international and domestic complex commercial and construction disputes. His experience includes representing top global EPCM firms on multi-billion-dollar complex project disputes in the United States and abroad, representing a French multi-national company in a water treatment plant design dispute in Australia, and representing a Lebanese subcontractor in a major international airport construction dispute in the Middle East.
Mr. Sassine’s international and domestic experience also includes representing clients in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, arbitration proceedings seated across the globe and administered under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, American Arbitration Association, London Court of International Arbitration, Dubai International Arbitration Centre, and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.
Apart from his legal work, Mr. Sassine is also active in the international arbitration community, where he frequently writes and presents on international arbitration topics. He is also the Editor-in-Chief (Blog Coordinator) of the Young International Council for Commercial Arbitration (YICCA) Blog, an Assistant Editor for the North American region of the Kluwer International Arbitration Blog, co-founder of Yoga Arbitration (YogArb), attends the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in both Vienna and Hong Kong as an arbitrator and coach, and is on the YICCA Special Committee of the ICCA-Guillermo Aguilar-Alvarez Memorial Award.
