James MacPherson is a leading International ADR Specialist with over twenty years’ experience within public and private sectors as a Neutral (Mediator, Facilitator and Arbitrator), ADR Trainer, Advisor and Systems Designer.
He served as Board Member of the International Mediation Institute (The Hague) and is affiliated with and active on domestic and international rosters of ADR providers around the world. Currently, serving on the inaugural Board of Oman ADR Centre (OAC).
Specializing in conflict management and resolution for corporate and governmental organizations, including designing and directing international, multilingual arbitration and mediation programs, James was retained as Special Counsel & Project Leader establishing the first international Saudi ADR center (SCCA). He was Co-Founder and inaugural CEO of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA).
He advises businesses and government agencies in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America on ADR systems design and training as well as legislative policy.
He has enjoyed designing and delivering ADR training in Bahrain, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Jordan, Kuwait, Maldives, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Syria, UAE, UK and USA.
A successful bilingual (English and French), dual national (Canada and US) mediator, James works to resolve matters ranging from commercial, insurance, construction, employment, financial and IP/Tech, to indigenous disputes and organizational conflict.
