Karinya Verghese is a commercial mediator, trainer and conflict resolution consultant in Los Angeles, California. Prior to that, Karinya practiced as a senior lawyer in Sydney, Australia specializing in commercial real estate and corporate transactions. After becoming increasingly frustrated with her clients spending millions of dollars on needless litigation, Karinya pursued a career in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. She undertook intensive study of negotiation at Harvard University and has since coached corporate executives, lawyers and members of the judiciary in negotiation and mediation skills. Karinya obtained her law degree at the University of Sydney and holds a Masters of Law from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, where she is also research fellow. Karinya relishes the challenge of helping people resolve their disputes and derives tremendous satisfaction from equipping people with the required skills to face future conflicts.
