Louis M. Solomon, a senior trial lawyer at Cadwalader, is the Chairman of the Commercial and International Litigation Groups and Co-Chairman of the Litigation Department. He is an internationally recognized practitioner on litigation issues affecting multinational companies operating across the globe.
Lou has tried over 50 complex commercial cases before judges, juries, and arbitral or governmental bodies. Recently, he secured an important victory in the U.S. Federal Circuit Court on behalf of Real Estate Alliance Ltd. in a patent case involving more than 35 real estate industry defendants who allegedly infringed on the company's pioneer patent describing mapping methods for locating available real estate properties for sale, lease, or rental. In addition to his representation of financial institutions, he regularly represents leading companies, such as Andrx, AriZona Iced Tea, Bouygues S.A., Bristol-Myers Squibb, FIFA, Japan Tobacco, KFC, MOMA, the New York Jets, Overseas Shipholding Group, PepsiCo, U.K.'s Premier Football League, and W.R. Huff Companies.
