I leverage 20+ years’ experience helping governments and international bodies craft private international legal reforms that boost growth and trade, first as a Senior Attorney Advisor to the U.S. Department of State and now aa a private International law consultant, in collaboration with the legal community and private sector. I offer concrete solutions designed to improve the business environment and trade policies in the fields of online dispute resolution (ODR), arbitration, secured transactions, simplified business registration and incorporation, consumer protection, commercial fraud, electronic commerce, public procurement, intellectual property, leasing, contract law, choice of law and enforcement of judgements.

Previously, as Senior Attorney Advisor with the U.S. Department of State, I served as the Representative of the United States leading U.S. negotiations of treaties and legislative instruments at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) annual sessions and in UNCITRAL’s working groups on arbitration, online dispute resolution, simplified business registration and incorporation, secured transactions, and insolvency. I also served as the Representative of the United States at the Hague Conference, UNIDROIT, the Organization of American States, and the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) for various private international law negotiations. Finally, I worked with the U.S. State Department’s Financial Inclusion Working Group, assisting in implementing legal reforms in the Americas and APEC region.

Since leaving the State Department, I have worked as a legal consultant to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and helped draft and secure approval of the APEC ODR Collaborative Framework and ODR Procedural Rules.
