Peter Bert is admitted both in Germany as lawyer and as solicitor in England and Wales. He read law at University College Cardiff (as an ERASMUS exchange student in 1987/88) and at Passau University (first state exam, 1991) as well as economics at Konstanz University (post-graduate degree in international economics, 1992). In 1993, he was a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School.
He has been in private practice in Frankfurt since 1996, and has been a partner in Taylor Wessing since 2003.
Peter has substantial experience in representing foreign, mainly US, UK and Indian clients investing in Germany, with a focus on M&A and private equity investments. As a member of our India Group, he advises European clients on their India activities.
Peter acts for clients in commercial and corporate disputes, often with a cross-border element, be it in arbitration, litigation or mediation. In 1999, he was accredited as a mediator by CEDR, London, and more recently by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
In addition to his native language German, Peter is fluent in English.
