This intense one-day class focuses on the ethics and principles of basic arbitration. Emphasis is placed on the importance of communicating for arbitrator success. Explored are the core tenets of arbitration, to include the arbitrator’s opening statement, the oath of all participants, arbitration formats and procedures, the Federal Arbitration and Texas Arbitration Acts, and the enforceability of the provisions. This training program is interactive and participatory.

The focus of this one-day class is practical but will review in-depth procedures and advance participants’ ability to conduct complex civil and international arbitrations. We will take a close look at the overall proceedings, and the finer points of complex arbitrations, including a section on the laws of evidence from the perspective of the arbitrator. Examples of Reasoned Awards will be studied and provided to participants.

Our mediation/neutrals training is a series of classes in which participants are trained in mediation, negotiation, and communication. The New DMA’s training satisfies the requirements of the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution to become a registered neutral.
