Courtenay Parrott Sobral

Courtenay Parrott Sobral practiced law for 16 years before making the professional commitment to help people stay out of court. She started helping individuals and families peacefully navigate the legal system in 2017 as a private Certified Online and Family Mediator and Parenting Coordinator (PCDM) with Compassion Family & Divorce Services in Colorado Springs, CO.   In recent years, she has enthusiastically embraced the concept of collaborative divorce and separation, where parties work with one cooperative legal professional instead of two adversarial professionals, saving money, time and emotional stress.

Ms. Parrott Sobral is currently acting as court-appointed parenting coordinator and/or decision maker (PC/PCDM) in high conflict family law cases with a focus on safe, courteous, and timely communications with the co-parent. Parenting coordination includes resources, suggestions and resources for co-parenting families, such as the professional evaluation of and recommendations for apps, software, and tech resources, tailored for each family’s unique lifestyle and needs to maximize and facilitate safe, reliable communication on parenting issues.

As of May 2020, Compassion Family & Divorce committed primarily to the online practice of collaborative divorce, mediation, and parenting coordination as being more convenient and efficient for everyone involved.

Ms. Parrott Sobral has years of experience helping two household families implement their parenting plan, as a Parenting Coordinator-Decision Maker (PS/PCDM).  As of 2023, Ms. Parrott Sobral is also a Colorado Child & Family Investigator (CFI).

Ms. Parrott Sobral handles mediation of civil matters, including the areas in which she practiced law for 16+ years: insurance law, workers’ compensation and small businesses. divorce, legal separation, parenting issues, parenting coordination-decision making and resolution of general family relationships.

Ms. Parrott Sobral was employed as the part-time Mediation Coordinator for the State of Colorado Judicial Branch, 10th District Combined Courts in Pueblo, Colorado.
