Montgomery Mediation provides two mediation services. Divorce Mediation and Marital Mediation. We are a dual gender team offering co-mediation services for divorce. Our co-mediators are skilled at helping you through the family as well as the financial issues you will need to resolve. Ellen is degreed in Family Development, with Masters level courses in Adlerian Psychology, while Don is a CPA with a Masters Degree in Taxation, a CDFA (Certified Divorce Financial Analyst) and is a Collaborative Practitioner. You will likely not find this combination of skills available in any other practice.
Ellen has over 30 years experience in medical and mental health, and advocacy services. Don has over 30 years experience as a CPA and CDFA. Don has been recognized a number of times as one of the top CPA’s in the Washington DC area, has been cited in sources including Forbes magazine, and was a columnist in the monthly magazine SmartCEO.
Ellen and Don have helped countless families reach resolution on their issues in a cost effective manner, without the stress typically associated with attorney’s or the court process.
Ellen and Don believe that while identifying the positions is important, identifying the underlying issues are even more important. Without resolving the underlying issues, dispute can ultimately never completely be resolved. If children are involved, the family unit will always exist, i.e. the parents will attend graduations, weddings, births together. Resolution of the underlying issues will make those events easier for everyone in the family.
Ellen has a bachelors degree in Family and Child Development, and has taken Masters level courses in Adlerian Psychology. Don is a CPA with a Masters Degree in Taxation, as well as is Certified as a Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).
Fees are based on hourly charges for mediation sessions, communications with any attorneys, computation of financial aspects of the divorce, and writing of the Memorandum of Understanding.
