I offer collaborative law, mediation and arbitration services to resolve family law, personal injury, insurance and other tort claim disputes. I have been a practicing attorney since 1975. As a result of my long career and extensive experience litigating and trying many cases and training in and practicing alternative dispute resolution (ADR), I have developed the skill set to help disputants resolve their differences without going to trial.
I do not apply a “one size fits all” approach. I have been trained in structured mediation (the O.J. Coogler model), transformative mediation and facilitative mediation. Likewise I have been trained in the practice of collaborative law. Many techniques of these various ADR models overlap, though there are of course differences in the models. In any case I handle, I use the dispute resolution techniques that I believe are best suited for that case.
Attorney, licensed in PA (1975) and New Jersey (1991); Mediator since 1987. During my 40+ years as an attorney in private practice I have handled numerous types of legal matters, tried many cases and have gained very broad experience–and perspective– in dispute resolution. I am also trained as a parent coordinator and as a collaborative family law attorney.
I began my mediation training and career in 1987. Although I have always been a litigator and enjoy it, I was drawn to mediation by the realization that litigation is not the best way to resolve disputes. In the family law arena it is usually excessively costly, both financially and emotionally.
I do not follow the “one model fits all” approach. I try to mold the process to fit the parties before me, rather than force fit the parties to a particular mediation model.
