My approach as a mediator is to use a variety of tools to help the parties settle – facilitation, coaching, evaluation, risk analysis, development of new options and realistically confronting choices. My approach as an arbitrator is to decide the case impartially and expeditiously. Disputes I handle tend to be highly charged and/or complex, including both two-party and multi-party. I draw on my past positions as partner in a law firm, administrator in state and federal government and university, board member of non-profit organizations, and consensus builder in public policy arenas for nearly 40 years.
