Currently focusing exclusively on mediating any and all types of civil conflicts and disputes, I have mediated all types of cases, including but not limited to, Personal Injury, Labor & Employment, Consumer, Business & Commercial litigation, Family and Divorce cases and various types of non-litigation community disputes.
I have over 500 jury and non-jury trials as lead counsel during my 45 years’ experience as a trial lawyer representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants in the following areas of law: Personal Injury, Labor & Employment, Consumer, Criminal, Business & Commercial litigation, and Family and Divorce.
As a Civil Trial Lawyer, I have handled, prepared and tried a myriad of cases for both Plaintiffs and Defendants. I have had jury trials in such diverse cases as automobile/trucking accidents, premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, survivor and wrongful death cases, workers’ compensation claims deceptive trade practice claims, contract disputes, family law and divorces.
In the area of employment law and wrongful termination, I have been lead counsel in lawsuits alleging discrimination and/or wrongful termination based on race, national origin, sex, age, disability, and sexual harassment under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended in 1991; the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act; the Americans with Disabilities Act; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act; and retaliatory discharge claims, including claims under Section 451 of the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act. I have also been involved in defending and/or representing employers and governmental entities in claims and/or lawsuits under the Texas Tort Claims Act; Texas Workers’ Compensation Act claims and subrogation; requests for reasonable accommodation of a disability; sexual harassment; and covenants not to compete.
Mediation Certification through Manousso Mediation and ADR Services and Training, and the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center Basic Mediation Training course in compliance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures Act §154.052, Texas Civil Practice & Remedy Code Ann.
Certification in Advanced Family, Divorce and Child Custody Mediation in the field of family dynamics and violence, ethics, theory, practice considerations, child development, financial aspects of divorce, advanced mediation skills and family law. I have also obtained the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center Family Mediation Training Certification
i have Specialized Certification in Elder and Adult Care mediation. When families need assistance in making decisions that involve the health, well-being, financial management, and end-of-life decisions of a loved adult or senior, a family mediation is ideal. The objective is to have the family come together and make decisions that support the relationship of the whole family.
I have completed the Advanced Mediation Course in the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) and Child Protective Services (CPS) dispute resolution techniques.
I have also received training in Criminal Law Mediation through the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center.
Finally, I have a Certification for Mediating Online Training in ECommerce, Property, Workplace Disputes and a Certification for Online Family and Divorce Mediation Training.
I am a Credentialed Mediator with the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association, a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, Academy of Professional Family Mediators, the Alamo Area Mediators Association, and a member of the Texas Association of Mediators.
