Christine M. Heer, LLC is a law and alternative dispute resolution firm committed to a holistic approach to solving problems. In addition to the law degree, Ms. Heer has Master's Degree in Social Work which guides her in assessing situations and needs when evaluating legal problems and planning the most effective and efficient way to resolve such problems. The firm is committed to using mediation and the collaborative process as a cost effective and empowering process to resolve issues resulting from divorce and dissolution.

Professional Background

Chris Heer has Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law. She is a licensed attorney in the State of New Jersey and is a member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators. Chris also has a Master's Degree in Social Work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey. Chris received her initial mediation training in 1996 at the Mediation Training Group in New York. In her social work practice, Chris has worked closely with Dr. Robert Rosenbaum, Ed.D. at Bunker Hill Consultation Center. The Bunker Hill practice specializes in legal referred services such as Child Custody Evaluations, Mediation and Parenting Coordination.


Chris Heer decided to go to law school in 1997 after completing her initial mediation training in 1996. Chris felt it was important for her to have a throrough grasp of the law to enhance and supplement her extensive knowledge of relationship dynamics and conflict resolution. After five years of learning the system through divorce litigation Chris is more committed than ever to using mediation as the preferred approach to divorce, dissolution and other family problems.

Chris is certified by the NJ Association of Domestic Violence as a Domestic Violence Specilaist and is a respected instructor on Domestic Violence Issues throughout New Jersey. She currently teaches a course on Domestic Violence Assessment and Intervention at Essex County College and has been an adjunct Instructor ar Rutger's School of Social Work in New Brunswick and Camden.
