Introducing the New Arbitrate.com!

After many months of work, we are very proud to announce the launch of the new Arbitrate.com, sporting a sleek design and a powerful set of updated features and capabilities.  We hope you will consider joining the community at Arbitrate.com and signing up for our Arbitration Today newsletter, which is available for free.

The new Arbitrate.com site is the product of the dedicated work of a global set of designers, contributors, and programmers all committed to building a "next-gen" website that will help the field of arbitration grow and improve over the coming decades. Once you see the new Arbitrate.com I bet you will agree that the new site has a clean, intuitive look — positioning arbitration for the future as a modern, accessible and trustworthy form of dispute resolution.

To support the new Arbitrate.com, Resourceful Internet Solutions ("RIS"), home of Mediate.com since 1996, has launched a new dedicated team within RIS to focus exclusively on developments in arbitration, providing daily articles (both original and custom curated), a members-only resource center (continually updated with valuable rules, documents, and contact information), a monthly members-only webinar series with leaders in the arbitration field, and much more. We especially encourage professional arbitrators to join the new Arbitrate.com site as Premium or Featured Members to raise their profile and to get more arbitration cases.

If you have not visited Arbitrate.com over the past few months, be sure to check out the latest all-new Arbitration articles, opinions, and interviews.  All of our historic Arbitration content has also now been migrated to the new site, and we have big plans for further expanding and accelerating our news gathering efforts in coming months and years.

Nothing better demonstrates our new focus than the Arbitration Conversation interview series conducted exclusively for Arbitrate.com.  The Arbitration Conversation now hosts over 70 interviews with many of the top arbitrators and arbitration scholars on the planet.  We believe they are an incredibly valuable contribution to the Arbitration field. 

Our Vision for Arbitrate.com

In our planning discussions last summer for the new Arbitrate.com our development team, including Amy, sketched out our vision for what we want the new Arbitrate.com to offer:

1. The primary destination on the web for everything arbitration
    
2. A quick editorial cycle, with active streams of blog posts, zoom interviews, and podcasts posted quickly and processed in real time
    
3. A focus on the day-to-day developments in arbitration, but also on where arbitration is going (and should be going)
    
4. A commitment to diversity and amplifying the voices that haven’t traditionally been at the front of the room in arbitration
    
5. Helping arbitrators spread the word about their services and find quality work
    
6. Creating opportunities for students to learn about arbitration, get involved with the field, and share their writing and research
    
7. A shared focus between international arbitration and domestic arbitration
    
8. Comfort with technology and an eagerness to explore how tech is pushing the boundaries of practice
    
9. Openness to wide ranging partnerships with providers, law firms, chambers, and academic programs
    
10. Engagement with with the communities of practice on listservs, panels, and on social media

Arbitrate.com is Committed to Arbitration Innovation

We could not be prouder of the work the RIS team has done bringing the new Arbitrate.com vision into reality.  Lately the buzz has been that arbitration has been too slow to innovate, too bogged down by procedural rules, and too controlled by organizations that aren’t interested in fully embracing the future. This has led some to describe arbitration as something of a relic, only marginally better than redress through the courts.  

At Arbitrate.com, we disagree.  We see the arbitration field as vital, global, and ready for innovation.  Newly minted lawyers and arbitrators from around the world are reinventing the practice of arbitration.  Innovative chambers are embracing the disruptions wrought by the pandemic and leveraging the lessons learned to establish new arbitration programs as nimble, modern, and relevant. Online arbitration (OArb), mixed-mode, judicial arbitration and med-arb are beneficially pushing the frontiers of dispute resolution practice and inventing new ways to better meet the needs of parties.  In sum, the promise of arbitration — faster, better, fairer outcomes — is brighter than ever.  We hope that you will join our efforts at Arbitrate.com to further deliver on this promise.

Transitioning Mediate.com Memberships to Arbitrate.com

It goes without saying that a major launch like this will create some changes, and our team is well prepared to provide support and answer any questions that you may have.

In the past, membership in the practitioner directory at Arbitrate.com was included at no additional cost with a Mediate.com Premium Membership.   With the new Arbitrate.com, Mediate.com and Arbitrate.com Memberships will now be separate.  Subscription payment for membership on Arbitrate.com will now fund the continuing great work of the Arbitrate.com team and further extend arbitration content and arbitration services globally.

Mediate.com Premium Members who opted into being in the historic Arbitrate.com practitioner database (prior to March 1, 2021) are now being provided with a limited-time complimentary membership at the new Arbitrate.com site. These complimentary new Arbitrate.com memberships will have an expiration date based on your corresponding Mediate.com Premium Membership expiration date.
