Beth Karassik is a trained mediator who co-mediates separations/divorces with other professionals and is also a Family Specialist/Divorce Coach and Child Specialist in the Collaborative Practice of Divorce. After many years in this work, she has partnered with Louise Zito, Esq. in Calma Collective, LLC, to provide transformational retreats and professional training. See calma-collective-retreats.com.
In her Divorce and Separation practice, she brings a deep appreciation, based on personal experience, of the impact of divorce on families and couples. Dr. Karassik’s expertise as a neuropsychologist gives her insight into how emotions like loss, uncertainty, and fear affect thinking and decision-making during difficult times like divorce. Her own divorce and experience of co-parenting deepened her understanding of the challenges involved in this transitional time for families. As a clinical psychologist trained in Discernment Counseling, Mediation, and Collaborative Divorce, she works with people at all stages of contemplating or entering the divorce/separation process. She has also added a certification as a Grief Counselor after experiencing a number of deaths of close family members and believes it is important to recognize the loss and grief experienced during divorce and separation.
Dr. Karassik is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, President of Divorce Solutions of Connecticut, and a member of the Collaborative Divorce Team of CT. She is a member of the Professional Development Committee and a Board and Executive Committee member of the Connecticut Council for Non-adversarial Divorce. She is committed to supporting children, adults, and families in having their lives align with their values, serve their best interests, and be expressions of what matters most to them.
