Clayton (Jim) Stott retired from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he served as the Assistant Director with the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and Adjunct Professor of Law. Prior to joining Pepperdine University, he was a sworn Commissioner with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. He provided mediation services to a wide range of negotiation clients. He has provided extensive work with national labor unions and management, including major hotels in Los Angeles, Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Dodgers, Coca Cola, Disneyland Resorts, Staples Center, Southwest Airlines, Toyota Motor Sales and the Los Angeles Police Department. He teaches Alternative Dispute Resolution courses in university, conference and workshop environments. He routinely guides very complex negotiations with large participant groups to unique, appropriate and successful conclusions.
