David Mandel, MA, LPC, is the CEO, Founder, and Owner of the Safe & Together Institute, a global leader in domestic abuse–informed training and systems change. With over 35 years of experience in the domestic violence and child welfare fields, Mandel developed the Safe & Together Model, a framework that emphasizes keeping children safe and together with the non-offending parent, partnering with survivors, and holding perpetrators accountable as parents.
The Safe & Together Institute, founded in 2006, collaborates with governments and NGOs worldwide, including in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Through live training, organizational consulting, online learning, and trainer certification, the Institute provides tools to transform practices across various sectors, such as family court, substance use, law enforcement, and mental health .
Mandel is also an accomplished author and speaker. His recent book, Stop Blaming Mothers and Ignoring Fathers: How to Transform the Way We Keep Children Safe from Domestic Violence, addresses systemic issues in child protection and advocates for more effective interventions .
