Michael J. Dwyer is a Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge. Prior to being elected, he was a general practitioner in Milwaukee County for over 20 years. He was first elected in 1997 and is in his third rotation in the Family Division, where he is currently the Presiding Judge. Judge Dwyer was a co-founder of the Wisconsin Chapter of AFCC.
Judge Dwyer is chair of the Wisconsin Supreme Court Planning and Policy Advisory Committee’s Limited Scope Representation - Mediation Subcommittee. That subcommittee proposed Rule 16-04 to allow lawyer mediators to draft legal documents in family law matters.
