Nicole Brodie is the founder and CEO of Green Current, a consulting firm to develop businesses triple bottom lines of profits, people, and planet. Her 15 years plus of community organizing and advocacy experience has spanned many diverse grassroots campaigns in Hawai'i; such as, child abuse prevention, civic engagement, energy justice, and anti-sex trafficking. She completed a Master's Degree in Urban Planning coupled with a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution from UH Manoa, honing her skills in community planning and facilitation. She then served on the facilitation team for the Fresh Water Initiative that developed recommendations for how the state can increase the supply of fresh water on Oahu. As Executive Director of Kanu Hawaii, she managed community projects that reached hundreds of thousands of Hawaii residents around sustainability issues such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, food sustainability, and civic engagement. The focus on residential behavior change inspired her to work with the private sector to change behavior on a larger scale which led to her founding Green Current.
