Dr. Shahla Ali, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law at the University of Hong Kong. Her teaching and research focus on arbitration and dispute resolution, international commercial transactions and law and development in East Asia. Prior to joining the faculty of law, she worked at the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie in their commercial trade practice group. She received her Ph.D from the University of California at Berkeley; her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley; her M.A. from Landegg International University, Switzerland; and her B.A. from Stanford University. She has lived and worked in China, Israel, Siberia, Kenya and the United States.
