  • Ambulance usage may not be a reliable indicator of the severity of injury.  
  • Cultural conditioning can impact whether an injured person calls for an ambulance.
  • When an injured person’s ‘fight or flight’ response kicks in, adrenaline is produced which masks pain and may cause the injured person to undervalue the injury.
  • Trauma impacts memory.
