Jeff Soilson | Quantum® ADR
Jeff’s extensive career in litigation, particularly in Divorce | Separation and Co-Parenting for three decades, showcased his dedication to advocating for clients. However, witnessing the impact of high-conflict family dynamics, especially on children, led him to create Quantum® ADR with Ashleigh. They emphasize compassionate conflict resolution, using mediation, coaching, and education to navigate interconnected relationships, even after disputes are resolved.
Jeff had a deep understanding of the emotional toll that legal battles took on families, especially children. His experience in high-stakes litigation made him realize the need for a more compassionate approach, especially in cases involving children. His collaboration with Ashleigh led to the creation of Quantum ADR, focusing on mediation, coaching, and education, emphasizing the interconnectedness of relationships even after disputes are resolved.
Jeff leverages over 25 years of high stakes litigation and trial expertise in divorce and family law. Throughout his career, he battled as a litigator for his clients, aiding them in court through complex and challenging win-or-lose scenarios. As his reputation flourished within legal circles, larger cases involving larger assets and higher income became the norm, enabling Jeff to litigate cases with large war chests for resources to support his clients in their quest to win.
However, Jeff’s discomfort with the traditional win-lose nature of litigation, particularly in cases involving children of divorce, reshaped his approach. Witnessing firsthand the detrimental impact of high-conflict family dynamics on children, Jeff delved deeper. Serving as a court-appointed guardian ad litem, he investigates and recommended appropriate parenting plans but recognized that someone always felt aggrieved.
This realization culminated when Jeff, in roles like a parenting coordinator with decision-making authority, saw the struggle between parties to influence outcomes, leaving someone feeling like a winner and the other like a loser. Even compromise decisions left neither side content, imposed as they were by a caring yet unfamiliar authority figure.
Jeff is driven by an understanding of complexities that arise from entangled relationships.
Delving into interdisciplinary organizations to comprehend mental health nuances, issues related to parenting and substance misuse, and parent/child contact problems, Jeff honed a language to better bridge legal and mental health domains.
Now, in collaboration with Dr. Ashleigh Louis, a dual-licensed psychologist and marriage and family therapist, Jeff embraces Quantum ADR’s Two-Coach Approach, employing mediation, coaching, and education. Their focus on entangled relationships, intertwined like quantum forces, advocates navigating rather than severing connections. They cherish the journey of resolving disputes while understanding that the interconnectedness endures long after conflicts are settled.
