About the Presenters:

Nicolás Lozada is the CEO of REDEK, the first Colombian startup focused on digital justice and online dispute resolution (ODR). As a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience, his academic and professional work focuses on the intersection of law and technology, arbitration, and international trade. He is a full professor at Universidad Externado de Colombia and has served as a visiting lecturer at several universitiesHe is also the founder of Redek Academy, where he teaches modules on AI applied to law, AI governance, and digital toolkits for lawyers. He also serves as an arbitrator and tribunal secretary in several arbitration centers in Colombia, Spain, and Guatemala, and is a member of the APEC eBRAM ODR panel. Holding LLM’s from New York University (NYU) and the National University of Singapore, he has been an international speaker on artificial intelligence, algorithmic justice, and ODR since 2012. In addition to publishing on these topics with academic publishers such as Oxford and Cambridge University Press, he has participated in technical forums, TED talks, and international conferences in countries around the world.

Juan Camilo Giron Consuegra is Head of the legal department at REDEK, a legaltech startup that is transforming the way disputes are resolved through artificial intelligence technologies and digital platforms. Juan Camilo is a cum laude graduate of Universidad Santo Tomás, with additional studies at the University of Nantes.  His background combines legal practice with academic research, which has allowed him to develop a critical, global, and interdisciplinary profile. He is passionate about arbitration and public and private international law, as well as learning about new languages (he speaks Spanish, English, and French) and cultures.

Ayelet Sela is an assistant professor (lecturer) at Bar-Ilan University faculty of law in Israel, where she is also a member of the BIU LawData Lab and the BIU Data-Science Institute. Dr. Sela’s scholarship and teaching revolve around law and technology, dispute system design, courts, and online dispute resolution. Her work focuses on choice architecture, procedural design and access to justice in courts, online courts, online dispute resolution, and online legal services. She also works on the application of machine learning methods to legal data for analytical purposes and in order to develop automated decision-support tools and governance mechanisms. Dr. Sela holds a JSD and JSM from Stanford Law School, where she was also a fellow in the Gould Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Center and the Codex Center for Legal Informatics. She earned an LL.B and “Amirim” Honors Program diploma from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and clerked for the Honorable Justice Eliezer Rivlin in the Israeli Supreme Court. Thian Yee Sze is the Principal District Judge of the Community Courts and Tribunals Cluster in the State Courts of Singapore, overseeing specialist judicial tribunals and courts such as the Employment Claims Tribunals, the Small Claims Tribunals and the Protection from Harassment Court. This cluster of tribunals and courts hears a broad range of civil cases, including contract, employment, harassment and other relational disputes within the community. A substantial part of the work of the cluster involves Self-Represented Persons. Yee Sze is also the Chairman of the Income Tax Board of Review, the Chairman of the Expert Board for Appeals under the Carbon Pricing Act, a member of the Complaints Panel under the Medical Registration Act and a member of the Registration of Criminals Act 2022 Reviewing Tribunal. Yee Sze has held various positions in her previous postings in the Singapore public service, including with the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
