The Reflective Practice Institute is starting a new Reflective Practice Group for new and experienced mediators on November 1, 2023.

This RPG:
* Meets for case consultations on the first Wednesday of each month for 1 year, 12 PM Eastern/9 AM Pacific for 90 minutes.
* Uses a supportive and disciplined method of improving the quality and effectiveness of practice.
* Deepens knowledge and understanding of why we make the choices that we do.

* An opportunity to meet colleagues and develop community

This live online program teaches mediators specialized skills and techniques for mediating adult family conversations (in person and/or online) around issues such as living arrangements, caregiving, financial planning, inheritance/estate disputes, medical decisions, family vacation homes, family communication, and decision-making.

Join trainers Arline Kardasis and Crystal Thorpe, with guest experts from the fields of elder law and gerontology. Six half-days packed with content, skill-building, role plays, and opportunities to interact with other participants. Training alum have often remarked about mediation gems they’ve learned that deepen their work and are also applicable in other contexts.

A 3-day training, participants will be introduced to the psychology behind the practices and beneficial results gained from restorative justice practices. They will engage in experiential exercises to practice the techniques and to begin developing the skills to facilitate conferences. Participants will learn how to facilitate the stages of the Restorative Conferencing process: the Pre-Conference meetings, the Conference, and the Post Conference planning.
