Ohio community invited to sign up for mediation training

Athens Area Mediation Service is offering free mediation training to all Ohio University students, faculty and staff.

The 15-hour training program will be offered over a single weekend on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday July 19, at 17 Blue Line Drive in Athens.

Mediation is a structured, informal, voluntary process in which a neutral third party facilitates a conversation between people who are experiencing some kind of conflict. The skills developed in this training can be applied both in a traditional mediation setting or can help with any situation in which individuals must navigate conflict.

While the training is free to all OHIO students, faculty and staff, there is a charge of $200 for those not affiliated with Ohio University.
